What is a Feed School?

A Feed School is the next school in a student's education sequence. Typically, an Elementary school feeds into a Middle School, and a Middle School feeds into a High School. This is an important setting for your rollover process at the end of the year, as it determines which school your students experiencing school changes are assigned to.

There are several places to set Feed School in EZRouting.

Setting the Feed School within the School Record

Under the Schools tab, you can set the feed school for a specific school by hovering over the three dots and clicking the edit icon.

Once the school record is open, you can see what Feed School is assigned. In this case, students in 5th grade at CMR Elementary School will be assigned to 6th grade at Lincoln Middle School during the rollover process. If you make any changes, make sure to click Save.

Setting the Feed School within the Student Record

This approach is uncommon, but you can also set the feed school for specific students.

On the Students tab, open the student record by hovering over the three dots and clicking the edit icon.

Once the student record is open, you can see what the feed school is for that student. In this case, the system default is Lincoln Middle School. During the rollover process, this student will be assigned to 6th grade at Lincoln Middle School.
