There are several ways in which you can go about reassigning appropriate bus schedules. To successfully reassign most of your students, you can use the Auto Assign feature.

First, navigate to your General Settings by selecting your personal icon and clicking Settings. Ensure your maximum walking distance is set to an appropriate distance for your students. If you wish to specify walking distance by grade, you can switch to the Grade Settings, click on a grade, and uncheck Use Default Max Walk Distance.

Then, you can specify a grade-specific walking distance.

To use the Auto Assign feature, begin in the Routes tab. Select the route by hovering over the three dots and selecting the pencil icon. Now you are in Route Edit Mode. Select one of your trips in the route by clicking on the trip name.

If this trip goes to a specific school or set of schools, make sure that you are filtering for only students at the appropriate schools. To do this, click on the three dots that appear underneath the trip. You will see a menu labeled Trip Properties, with an option to Select Students for This Trip. Ensure the correct school or schools are selected here, then click Save. For example, here we select the Sweet Home Senior High School.

Now, click the plus sign under the trip. This will open a menu labeled Add New Trip Stop / Assign Students. In this menu, you will see a person icon in the top right — this is the Auto Assign function. Clicking this will cause the system to automatically find unrouted or partially routed students in your system and assign them to a nearby stop.

Since you already selected the appropriate school, only the students going to the school or schools on the trip will be assigned. You can review the selections by looking at the lines drawn from student to stop.

If you'd like to remove an assignment, simply click the line connecting the student to the stop. If you'd like to add an additional assignment, click and drag a line from student to stop. Once you are happy with these settings, click the Save icon.
