Keep Existing Routes

  • For our clients who are choosing to mostly keep their current routes for the upcoming school year, we have several suggestions.

First, we would like our clients to be assured that EZRouting will take care of all student rollover needs. Our system will auto-populate with placeholder data, which will include moving each student to their next grade level and, if applicable, to their new school. Once we receive the actual new school year data from your school’s Student Information System (or SIS), EZRouting will automatically replace the placeholder data with the actual data in the new school year.

For example, the current school year is 2021 Spring. When you view the change requests, the system will lead you to the correct school session: 2021 to 2022 Semester.

All our clients have to do to facilitate student rollovers is ensure that their feed grades and feed schools are correct. This can be accomplished from the Settings menu. First, navigate to your personal icon in the top-right corner of your EZRouting site. Then, in the top-left corner, change from General Settings to Grade Settings. Double-check that all your grades feed into each other correctly. Make sure you have a grade designated for your graduated students as well, and that the checkbox marked Students of this grade are considered as graduated is checked.

If you change any of this information, be sure to click the Save icon at the top of the page.

Next, to double-check your feed schools, navigate to the Schools tab at the top of the page. You can check the feed school for a particular school by hovering over the three dots next to that school and clicking the pencil icon.

From here, ensure that the school is correctly configured with the appropriate lowest grade, highest grade, and feed school. If you change any of this information, be sure to click the Save icon at the top of the page.

Now that you have made sure your configuration for the new school year is correct, you can clone your old routes from the current school year to the new school year.

To do this, first navigate to the Routes tab. Next, make sure you are under the current school year. Then select the Operations menu from the top taskbar and navigate to the Clone Routes option.

From here, you can choose to copy routes from the school year to the new school year. If you wish to clone every route to the new school year, simply click Select All and then click Clone Routes. Otherwise, you can individually select or deselect the routes you would like to clone.
